Grants

It is the policy of the Byron Union School District to assist and support schools and programs in the pursuit and acquisition of grant funding from the state, federal or other governmental agencies as well as from private and foundation sources, in order to improve student achievement, enhance professional development efforts, and advance the district's goals and the goals of the individual schools. To that end, the School District will do the following:

* Aggressively and systematically seek, secure, maintain, and manage grant funds for programs to enhance student learning, student programs and enhance professional development.

* Establish and maintain specific grant procedures and protocols that explicitly outline activities, quality control measures, accountability, responsibilities, and deadlines for competitively seeking, securing, and managing grant funds.

* Commit and allocate adequate resources to ensure that its grant management plan is effectively implemented and operated.

* Use grant funds to supplement, expand, improve, or enhance current efforts of the school system or to implement new efforts in order to reach district or school goals.

* Operate each grant-funded program in accordance with the terms and conditions of the funding agency.

* Systematically evaluate and assess the effectiveness of its grants management plan and make modifications to the plan when deemed desirable and appropriate.

Finally, we are actively seeking and interested in collaboration within our community.  If you are interested in assisting BUSD with this process, please contact our Grants Administrator directly.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about grants within our School District, please contact Dolores Long either via email or at 925.634.6644 x122.
